WATCH: New NASA footage shows 2017’s most ferocious Hurricanes sweep across the globe

was just one of the huge storms that battered the United States earlier this year leaving a massive trail of destruction across the Caribbean.

Hurricane Harvey, Irma, Jose, Maria and Ophelia can be seen in the footage forming and then sweeping across the globe.

Smoke, sea salt and dust can all be seen in the footage as the weather systems develop across the globe.

Even the huge Sahara dust cloud which created the red skies in London in October can be seen working its way across the UK.

Harvey crashed into southern USA this year and brought the target rainfall ever and was the costliest tropical storm on record.

The huge storm also claimed the lives of over 70 people and displaced more than a million people as it hit Texas.

Hurricane Irma, which hit parts of the Caribbean and Florida broke records for being a Category 5 Hurricane for the longest amount of time ever.

The storm devastated parts of the Caribbean as it ripped across islands, such as Barbuda, destroying houses and snapping trees, killing at least one person.

Jose, Maria and Nate all followed the two powerful Hurricane’s and can be seen in the footage making their way towards the US.

Ophelia’s path can also be seen working its way towards Britain in October, as it picked up sand and dragged it across the UK.

Britons were left confused in October after Ophelia whipped up winds from the Saharan Desert, blowing dust across Spain and up towards the UK causing a strange phenomenon.

Hurricane’s are going to get more powerful and hit more frequently leading to more detestation a leading Hurricane researcher has claimed.

Kerry Emmanuel, the Professor of Atmospheric Sciences at MIT, said: “We have not seen such an active season in terms of storm power since 2005.

“As we go forward in the century we will read about more devastating wind storms which produce more stronger storm surges and more devastating hurricane flooding.”
