Appearing on Fox News, Mr Hanson lashed former US President Barack Obama and said: “I think after eight years of Obama’s cringing capitulation all around the world, it was a pleasure to watch President Trump proclaim that we will put America first, and to point out to the world that he’s not going to put up with the bad actions that we had in the past.

“He said that we’re going to go ahead and assert our power as the world’s sole superpower and make sure that people like China who have been, both on the economic stage and also in their support for North Korea, have been causing problems for the rest of us.

“So I think he’s really changed the game and put the world on notice that America is back.”

During the speech, the US President attacked the regime of North Korean leader and called on “all responsible nations” to come together to stop the nuclear threat from the rogue nation.

He said: “The world cannot tolerate the menace of a rogue regime that threatens it with nuclear devastation.

“All responsible nations must join forces to isolate the brutal regime of North Korea-to deny it any form of support.”
