North Korea branded the US “war maniacs” and described Donald Trump’s armed forces as “trigger-happy”.
A series of furious articles published in a Pyongyang-based newspaper warned the US to halt its sea-based drills – or else.
Propaganda rag Rodong Sinmun, which acts as a mouthpiece for Kim’s one-party government, described the joint drills as preparation for war.
It slated two separate drills held off the Korean coast over the past two weeks, detailing the drills to its readers in the hermit state.

“The US imperialist warmongers conducted joint sea blockade drills in the waters off Jeju Island of south Korea on November 6 and 7, together with south Korean armed forces and Australian naval forces.
“The trigger-happy forces engaged themselves in drills for sea blockade, vessel detection and tracking and inspection against the DPRK in case of emergency.”
North Korea regularly condemns joint military drills held by its rivals in the region, accusing the US, South Korea and Japan of plotting an invasion or attack.
But Donald Trump shows no sign of backing down, telling Pyongyang this week: “We’re done listening.”
