PS4 update: Sony launches AMAZING new PlayStation scheme – But there is a BIG catch

Sony has given users the perfect reason to fire up the PlayStation and unlock Trophies.

Currently available in the US, Sony’s amazing new PlayStation scheme lets users earn PSN store credit by unlocking Trophies.

Players can trade 100 silver trophies for 100 points, 25 gold trophies for 250 points or 10 platinum trophies for 1,000 points.

As spotted by Kotaku, 1,000 points are worth $10 in PSN store credit, which isn’t a bad return if you’re a dedicated Trophy hunter.

There is, however, one big catch for existing PlayStation 4 owners.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

As Sony points out, you have to be signed up to the Rewards scheme to qualify. Likewise, you’ll need to link your PSN account to Sony Rewards before you can start earning credit.

Any Trophies earned before joining Sony Rewards can’t be used to earn cash.

It’s unfortunate for gamers like Roughdaw4, who currently sits at the top of the PlayStation Trophies leaderboard.

With 15,551 silver, 6,903 gold, and 1,359 platinum Trophies, Roughdaw4 would be sitting on roughly $1,500 worth of PSN store credit.

However, with a constant batch of free games available through PS Plus each month, most PS4 owners should be able to unlock some credit by the end of the year.

In fact, have just gone live on PS4, PS3 and PlayStation Vita.

Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain and Amnesia: Collection have been replaced by the likes of Bound and Worms Battlegrounds.

Here is the PS Plus November 2017 lineup in full:

  • Worms Battlegrounds (PS4)
  • Bound (PS4/PS VR)
  • Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS Plus bonus – PS VR Required)
  • That’s You! (PS Plus bonus – PlayLink)
  • R-Type Dimensions (PS3)
  • Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic (PS3)
  • Dungeon Punks (PS Vita & PS4)
  • Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse [Ep. 1 & 2] (PS Vita)
