Fans know that Leia will die and Snoke is highly unlikely to be swishing around the galaxy in his gold robes beyond Episode 9.
Many are convinced that either Luke or Kylo Ren (or both) will pay the ultimate price to lay the Skywalker legacy to rest.
As speculation builds that Rey will be tempted to the Dark Side, there is an increasing possibility that she might have to die in some spectacular fashion during Episode 9 to restore balance to the Force.
However, the latest shock declaration by Kathleen Kennedy has just seemed to confirm exactly who will live on beyond the leatest trilogy to star in the next set of movies, which are already being planned.
The head of Lucasfilm is responsible for all Star Wars content that hits the cinema and television screens around the world.
In a new interview with the Star Wars Show earlier today she excitedly revealed plans for the next phase of Star Wars movies.
Kennedy dropped a huge bombshell about the ten-year movie plan after Episode 9 that will definitely include four beloved characters from the current trilogy.
STAR WARS 8: REY IS ALREADY PART OF THE DARK SIDE AND HERE IS THE OFFICIAL PROOF
During the lengthy interview, the subject came up of the writers group which oversees the coherence of all exisiting and future Star wars stories, movies and shows.
Kennedy said: “We’re sitting down now and we’re talking about the next ten years of Star Wars and we’re looking at narratively where that might go.
“Future stories beyond Episode 9 with these new characters, Rey, Poe, Finn, BB8… The possibilities are endless.”
STAR WARS 8 : ‘LUKE’S INCREDIBLE POWER CANBRING DOWNSTAR DESTROYERS AND HE ALREADY HAS’
Surely if the group is already plotiing what comes next for Rey, Finn and Poe that must mean they will all survive to the end of Episode?
Speaking of main and hugely popular “new characters” what does this then mean for Kylo Ren? It is looking increasingly likely that the only way he can possibly atone for his terrible actions so far is to follow his grandfather’s example of making the ultimate sacrifice.
The emphasis on “new” characters, also implies that fans probably won’t see Luke again, either…
