Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid: PC update as Bungie bring new changes

Unlike on PS4 and Xbox One, The Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid arrives complete with the new Challenge Mode from launch.

The new mode adds a new challenge that must be completed while running through the game’s only Raid.

Like many activities in Destiny 2, the Leviathan raid offers Challenges that refresh weekly.

Players may view these Challenges in-game by launching into the Leviathan raid, and entering navigation view by bringing their Ghost.

In the Challenge Mode version of the new Raid, Guardians are tasked with completing a hidden victory condition in the Royal Pools encounter.

If this is done, players will earn an additional reward on top of the usual Powerful Gear currently available.

But players who are hoping to run this new activity may want to try it today and maybe skip it tomorrow.

That’s because Bungie are planning to release a Destiny 2 update on Thursday, which will mean downtime and disruption.

Destiny 2 will be taken offline for server maintenance tomorrow (11/02) at 3pm, with the expected downtime lasting around four hours.

A Patch Notes Preview from Bungie:

General

  • Fixed an issue with collision detection on the Bureaucratic Walk emote
  • Fixed an issue causing players to encounter empty public spaces too often in free roam

Crucible

  • Updated Mercy Rule settings to allow Mercy to activate slightly later in the match, allowing a wider range of scores to trigger it.

Clash

  • Reduced score limit to 50 (was 75)

Control

  • Reduced score limit to 90 (was 100)
  • Reduced influence that enemy-controlled zones exert over the spawning system

Survival

  • Reduced round time limit to 2 minutes (down from 3)
  • Reduced life count to 6 (down from 8)

Supremacy

  • Increased score-to-win to 70 (up from 50)
  • We now grant one point for defeating an enemy Guardian
  • Adjusted the influence that enemy crests have on the spawning system

PS4 Xbox One and PC Guardians can also look forward to the game’s first expansion arriving next month.

The Destiny 2 Osiris DLC was revealed today during Sony’s Paris Games Week conference, where it was confirmed the expansion would arrive on December 5.

Destiny 2 – Expansion I: Curse of Osiris, takes place after the conclusion of the Destiny 2 campaign where you are dispatched to Mercury on a quest to find Osiris.

This guy is being hyped up as the most powerful Warlock to have ever lived, and will be a bit of a handful.

The Vex will be the big bad in the upcoming expansion, which will also see Osiris play the role of a anti-hero of sorts.

“Curse of Osiris adds a new chapter to the world of Destiny 2, expanding the universe by adding an all-new cinematic story with new and returning characters,” Bungie teases.
