Bale spent six years at Tottenham after signing from Southampton back in 2007.
During that time the Wales international established himself as the club hero, scoring 55 goals in 203 games and helping the club win the Football League Cup in the process.
He left for Real Madrid in 2013 but, despite helping Los Blancos win the Champions League on three separate occasions, is yet to win round supporters.
In recent weeks, talk has arisen that Gareth Bale could be set to leave Real for a sensational Spurs return – with Harry Kane heading to the Bernabeu in return.
And Spanish website Diario Gol claims the 28-year-old has told club president Perez that he would love to return to his former side.

It is said Manchester United, who have long been tipped to sign him, are no longer pursuing his signature.
But Bale has told Perez that, should his Real Madrid career end, he wants to return to Tottenham.
Diario Gol say Perez has been left enthused with the news, as it could sweeten any deal for Kane.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will pit their wits against Tottenham on Wednesday, just a fortnight after their 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu.
And Zinedine Zidane has confirmed Bale is a doubt to face his old employers.
He said: “Bale is already on the field, almost ready to train with the team, but I can’t give you a date for when he’ll be back.”
Bale has been out of action since injuring his calf in their 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund last month.
