Widely criticised for that display against a fellow top side, it will be interesting to see how they line up against swashbuckling, albeit Harry Kane-free, Spurs.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal gave United a 1-0 win in an assured display at Old Trafford when they met last season – Mourinho could do with more of the same today.

TEAM NEWS – MANCHESTER UNITED
11:40: OK, Jose Mourinho has made three changes from the side who were beaten by Huddersfield last weekend.
Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are all relegated to the bench with Marcus Rashford, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan replacing them.
Chris Smalling retains his role in defence, which means Manchester United could be playing with three at the back today.

FORM
11:20: We may only be nine matches into the campaign, but this clash between the sides second and third in the standings looks important.
Manchester City may have stumbled through their Carabao Cup tie against Wolves, but they have been unrelenting in the league.
The leaders are five points clear of United and Spurs heading into a weekend when few expect Pep Guardiola’s men to come unstuck at West Brom.
That outcome at the Hawthorns would mean defeat for either side would leave them trailing the leaders by eight points.
MORNING
11:15: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of Manchester United vs Tottenham from Old Trafford.
It’s arguably the biggest match of the Premier League season so far with the pair locked together on 20 points, five points behind leaders Manchester City.
But there’s something missing? Ah yes, Harry Kane.
The 24-year-old, who has already hit 13 goals for Spurs this season, was forced off late on in last weekend’s 4-1 win over Liverpool with a hamstring issue.

Bailly has been injured since the international break but Jose Mourinho is hopeful the centre-back will play, with Jones set to be involved.

Top scorer Harry Kane will miss out for Tottenham due to a hamstring injury.
Victor Wanyama (knee) is the only other absentee for Spurs as they look to claim a victory that would see them leapfrog the Red Devils in the table.
