Real Madrid defender Ramos has been one of the club’s top performers in recent seasons.
He has survived a string of managerial changes and Real president Florentino Perez is prepared to back him up with another defensive partner next season.
That is according to Spanish outlet Don Balon, who claim Alderweireld is top of Perez’s summer with list.
However, Tottenham have other ideas.
Spurs are keen to keep Belgium international Alderweireld and are open to offering him a new contract.

Talks have not progressed as well as the club would have liked but Spurs are still confident of locking their player into an extension.
Don Balon claim Inter Milan are also preparing a substantial offer to sign Alderweireld – but that Real hold the cards if Spurs do decide to sell up.
Perez is aware that manager Zinedine Zidane wants new defenders, especially in the middle, and will supposedly ‘do everything possible’ to appease the boss.
Zidane has delivered two Champions League titles and the La Liga crown since he took over Real Madrid in January 2016.
And he barely spent any money last summer, hoarding the cash for a splurge at the end of this season.
