Murray has not played a tennis match since Wimbledon in July when he was beaten in five sets by American Sam Querrey.
The British number one had cut short his season due to injury which has been emulated by several top players including Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori and recently Tomas Berdych.
But 30-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to post a video of himself on an indoor court practicing serves.
And Murray has now posted a fresh footage of his rehabilitation.
Murray is captured moving across the baseline hitting several forehands and backhands with coach Jamie Delgado watching behind him.
In the video caption, Murray thanked fellow Brit Alexander Ward for the hit, saying: “Ball still coming out the middle.
“Can’t wait to get back on the match court competing..I miss it so much.
“Thanks to @theawardd for the rhythm.”
Murray’s return to the court is unlikely to mean a comeback at the upcoming Paris Masters but he is scheduled to face Roger Federer at Glasgow’s SSE Hyrdo in an exhibition match on November 7.
Murray’s return to the ATP tour is set to be at the Brisbane International in the new year ahead of the Australian Open which gets underway on January 15.
He said in September: “I will be beginning my 2018 season in Brisbane in preparation for the Australian Open and I’m looking forward to playing in Glasgow later this year against Roger [Federer] for Unicef UK and Sunny-sid3up.
“I have a fantastic team working alongside me to help me through this process and appreciate the support from them and all of my fans over this difficult period.”
