OnePlus is believed to be hard at work on a new smartphone.
Dubbed OnePlus 5T, the new flagship phone is expected to be the successor to the hugely-popular OnePlus 5.
Some sources believe the new handset will launch in the next month or so.
The Chinese smartphone startup employed a similar technique last year, launching its OnePlus 3T a mere six months after the launch of its predecessor.
Images of the upcoming OnePlus has purportedly leaked online, revealing an edge-to-edge display, similar to the Galaxy S8.
Technology blog SlashLeaks has published a press render that purports to show the new OnePlus device with an all-screen design.
It’s probably unwise to read too much into this dubious leaked image, however, if the design is accurate – the OnePlus could also sport a dual-curved display.
Samsung has achieved enormous success with this industrial design on its smartphone range.
The dual-curved OLED display has enabled the South Korean company to squeeze phablet-sized displays into smaller physical footprint than rival devices.
The latest OnePlus follows another leaked image, which also purported to show an edge-to-edge design for the next-generation smartphone.
According to sources speaking to GizmoChina, OnePlus aims to launch its OnePlus 5T handset in November 2017.
The biggest change purportedly planned for the new handset is the display.
The company is expected to increase the display to six-inches, with a 2160×1080 resolution and a 18:9 aspect ratio.
Following in the footsteps of the Galaxy S8, Pixel 2 XL and iPhone X, OnePlus will trim the bezels around its display – allowing for a greater screen-to-body ratio.
GizmoChina has obtained a photograph that claims to show the OnePlus 5T.
Like all rumours, it’s worth taking these leaks with a healthy pinch of salt.
It’s possible OnePlus will wait until next year to launch its next flagship smartphone.
