Samsung Galaxy 8 price drop as major new update could be coming soon

award-winning is still the phone to beat in 2017.

With an edge-to-edge display, fast processor and stunning curved design there’s little that can beat it.

Now it seems there’s another feature, that could be coming to the S8, which will improve the user experience even further.

Unlike the new Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, the Galaxy S8 doesn’t include a dual-lens camera.

This means users are unable to take pictures with a DSLR-style depth of field effect.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

However, a software update could be arriving soon which will allow the phone to add this focus blur without needing a double camera.

Google’s new Pixel 2 is already offering the ability to produce portrait mode pictures with a single camera and Samsung could be planning something similar.

Spotted by GSM Arena, a recent post on the Korean compony’s website saw a user ask if a software update was coming soon.

Although Samsung’s response was pretty vague it did suggest that a new photography mode is in the pipeline.

The message returned to the Galaxy S8 owner confirmed: “Dear valued customer.

“We appreciate the chance to assist you.

“Kindly note that regarding your query unfortunately there is no information yet, but we hope that you will get portrait mode update with the next SW.”

There’s no official confirmation from Samsung about this upgrade and it’s likely that its next Galaxy S9 will copy the Note 8 with a dual-lens camera.

But, if this feature is pushed out in a software it will be a huge bonus to anyone owning or thinking of buying an S8.

Another reason for considering this device is that its price has begun to fall in recent months.

This flagship can now be picked up for under £30 per month and – That’s over £140 off the original asking price.

With Apple set to release its iPhone X in the coming weeks this is a key time for Samsung to try and lure customers to its devices.

Apple’s iPhone X is the first device from the US technology to feature an edge-to-edge display.
