Queen Elizabeth II’s style secret – is THIS why Her Majesty always wears bright colours?

Queen Elizabeth II, 91, has outfits for every occasion and in array of different bold, bright colours.

From royal blue to luminous yellow, Her Majesty has been seen in every eye-catching shade.

But why is the royal rarely seen in pale colours or patterned designs? Is there a reason why?

Countess Sophie of Wessex revealed last year the reasoning behind her colourful outfit choices.

In a documentary titled The Queen at 90, she said: “Don’t forget that when she turns up somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, ten, 15 deep, and someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the Queen’s hat as she went past.

“She needs to stand out for people to be able to say ‘I saw the Queen’.”

Other sources have also confirmed the reason behind Queen Elizabeth’s famous fashion choice.

Caroline de Guitaut, the curator at the Riyal Collection Trust, told the New York Times: “The Queen has always been aware that she needs to stand out from the crowd, and it is for this reason that millinery has always played an important role in her wardrobe.”

The Queen’s style secrets do not end there.

The Queen often finishes off her look with a pair of flat black buckle shoes.

But with hundreds of pairs of the similar-looking shoes, how does the British monarch ensure a comfortable walk and avoid getting blisters?

Royal designer Stewart parvenu has been working with the Queen and her wardrobe since 2000 and revealed to the Sunday Times and described the techniques his team use to keep her looking perfect.

The Queen is known to wear a few different styles of shoe from shoemaker Anello & Davide, and Stewart revealed the nifty trick she uses to never risk getting blisters when she buys a new pair of shoes.

As well as choosing fabrics so the Queen’s clothes do not crease, Stewart revealed she has a servant with the same sized feet break in her shoes.

He said: “[The shoes] have to be immediately comfortable…she does get someone to wear them.

“The Queen can never say, ‘I’m uncomfortable, I can’t walk anymore’.”

The servants who break in the shoes also reportedly wear cotton ankle socks and walk on carpet to soften the leather.
