North Korea’s despotic leader Kim Jong-un could be targeted in a ‘decapitation’ operation by US special forces.
The specialist US Navy Seals are believed to be on board a submarine currently docked in South Korea, according to a Seoul-based news agency.
They claim the USS Michigan in the port of Busan boasts silos for mini-submarines used in covert missions.
These submarines would be used to secretly transport a small squad of trained killers into enemy territory to carry out assassinations – in this case, up the Taedong River to Pyongyang to kill Kim.

Yonhap News revealed: “A unit of U.S. special forces tasked with carrying out ‘decapitation’ operations is aboard a nuclear-powered submarine in the group, according to a defence source.”
The submarine is currently in South Korea as part of the joint military drills with the USA.
The Maritime Counter Special Operations Exercise will continue throughout this week in the East Sea and Yellow Sea.

It is not the first time plans of an assassination have been leaked, with North Korea claiming America tried and failed to kill Kim last summer.
They claim US and South Korean forces were caught in Pyongyang while attempting to carry out an attack using “biological and chemical substance”.

A statement in the state-run news agency KCNA said: “In May this year, a group of heinous terrorists who infiltrated into our country on the orders of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the US and the South Korean puppet Intelligence Service with the purpose of carrying out a state-sponsored terrorism against our supreme headquarters using biological and chemical substance were caught and exposed.
“This palpably shows the true nature of the US as the main culprit behind terrorism.”

This incident has not been confirmed by the USA.
And experts believe even China, historically one of North Korea’s closest allies, is working on a plot to kill Kim.

Professor Malcolm Chalmers, a defence expert from the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi), told Daily Star Online China wants a North Korean regime change.
Prof Chalmers said: “China has been trying to find another member of the Kim family to replace him – which has of course enraged him.
“China are interested more in personnel change rather than regime change.”

It comes amid an ever-tightening spiral of threat and countrer-threat between the USA and North Korea this year.
US leader Donald Trump has threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea, adding “Rocket Man” Kim Jong-un “won’t be around much longer”.
North Korea has given as good in return, claiming the USA has “lit the wick of war” and will pay the ultimate price.
Kim also frequently threatens to “reduce Japan to debris” and directly bomb the American mainland.
