The Destiny 2 Iron Banner launched this week and also provided a few new updates along the way.
An additional map was launched as part of the new Iron Banner to give you more zones to control.
Distant Shore is a Crucible map set on Nessus, and is a Destiny 1 remake many returning Guardians will recognise.
And Bungie have confirmed that after the weekly reset, Saladin will leave the Tower, signaling the end of this Iron Banner.
This will also mean that Distant Shore will then go into the rotation for all playlists on PS4 and Xbox One.
The Destiny 2 Weekly Reset will be at the usual time next week, with Tuesday also seeing an update in what Challenges and Nightfall Strikes are available.
Destiny 2 players have also uncovered an Overwatch secret hidden within the Iron Banner event.
Accessible only by the best players, Lord Saladin references Overwatch character Reaper when players manage a 20-person kill streak.
“Die! Die! Di-*cough* Sorry I’ve been watching too many Iron Banner matches,” Lord Saladin exclaims (via Polygon). “What time is it? Shaxx? Shaxx, are you there? Can you get me a water? Stop yelling, it’s just a question. I’m not old!”
Overwatch character Reaper says “Die! Die! Die!” when players activate his Ultimate ability.
The reason for its inclusion is Destiny 2 is that Lord Saladin and Reaper are both voiced by Keith Ferguson.
The Destiny 2 Prestige Raid is still on course to be released next week, even if Bungie have yet to solve the recent exploit that caused its original delay.
Earlier this week, Bungie postponed the launch of the Prestige Raid because of an exploit that was discovered that could cast doubt on the legitimacy of the fireteam who captures the title of World First.
“We have been working on a fix, but the short-term solution contains too much risk,” a message from Bungie explains.
“The last thing we want to do is fix an exploit some players are using, only to break other parts of the game for everyone. Because of this, we are pushing the fix off to a later date.
“Does that mean you are delaying Prestige Raid again?”
“No, the Prestige Raid will still begin on October 18 at 10AM Pacific. We don’t want to make you wait any longer to experience what the raid team has cooked up for those of you who enjoy a challenge worthy of your talents.
“One thing we did accomplish as part of our investigation was the creation of a way to verify a clean finish. We can now detect if any teams use this exploit to gain an advantage. This will take some extra time to verify, but we will be able to crown the winners with the confidence they deserve.
“A safe fix is still being investigated for this issue. Our current plan is to deploy it as part of a future update. We’ll give you more details before it’s ready to go.
Bungie also confirmed that more Destiny 2 Raid changes are being worked on, with more news being planned for next week.
This will focus on news Raid Challenges that have been designed to make you rethink familiar encounters.
Bungie have confirmed new details on the upcoming Destiny 2 PC release date.
In 12 days, Destiny 2 will go live on its last planned platform, with every player on the PC able to start their adventure at the same time.
On October 24, Destiny 2 will go live on PC at around 6pm, BST – That will be 10am PST and 13:00 EST in New York.
For those interested, Destiny 2 will be available on Battle.net and will include these spec requirements, which have been updated since the PC beta.
