What’s a boy with no toys to do?
Poor old Thor will lose his precious hammer Mjolnir early on in Ragnarok. It’s been taken away from him before by his father Odin as punishment.
This time, though, fans already know from the trailers that Hela will destroy the mythical weapon in a terrifying show of power early on in the movie.
Hemsworth just let slip that something “very exciting” will be coming back as a replacement.
The star was being interviewed by ET Canada when he was asked about his worrying lack of weapons.

It looks like Jarnbjorn is ready for a slice of the action.

The legendary axe Jarnbjorn was Thor’s first major weapon in the comicbooks, before he was worthy of wielding Mjolnir. And no, we’re not entirely sure how to pronounce either of them but we are having fun trying.
Eagle-eyed fans will remember that Jarnbjorn was already hinted at way back in February in early concept art for Avengers: Infinity War.

A behind-the-scenes video showed some concept art. One image depicted Thor with Rocket Raccoon. Rocket is firing his usual heavy-duty artillery but Thor is holding the base of a weapon that very clearly is not Mjolnir.
The long, sleek metal blade can be half-seen but certainly looks like some sort of axe. Combined with Hemsworth’s cryptic comments, it seems that Jarnbjorn will be the crowd-pleaser he mentions.
Until, of course, they find some way to restore Mjolnir…
