It was recently revealed that Mandalay Bay Hotel security guard Jesus Campos was shot six minutes before the Vegas gunman opened fire on the 22,000 people below, and questions are being raised about the police response time.
Retired Sheriff commander, Sid Heal, said: “Someone needs to account for those minutes.”
Aden Ocampo-Gomez recently stated that the Las Vegas Police Department will be answering questions regarding the response time to Mr Paddock’s attack.
Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo recently stated: “What we have learned is the security guard was encountered by the suspect prior to his shooting to the outside world.”
Mr Campos was previously credited with putting an end to the Vegas shooting after previous accounts stated the guard was shot after Paddock had opened fire at 10:05pm local time (6:05am GMT).

However, Mr Campos is now reported to have been shot at 9:59pm local time (5:59am GMT), leaving a gap of six unanswered minutes that are currently unaccounted for by authorities.
As the guard was previously credited with stopping the shooting, questions are also left unanswered as to why Stephen Paddock stopped firing on concertgoers along the Vegas Strip.
Reports state that police did not discover the injured Mr Campos until they found him a hallway of the hotel at 10:18pm PT (06:18 GMT), three minutes after the shooting from the 32nd floor had ceased.
David Shepherd, an advisor to the Las Vegas Police Department, stated that standard protocol for hotels is to barricade the door where a shooting is taking place and wait for police to arrive.
He further disclosed that police are instructed to negotiate with an attacker first, before storming the room to ensure officer safety.
He claimed: “One of the biggest priorities is not to lose the life of a police officer.
“So in those six minutes, it is highly unlikely police would have stormed that room.”
In the 72-minute shooting, 58 people were killed and 527 were injured as they attended a Route 91 Harvest Festival along the Las Vegas Strip.
It took police an hour and 12 minutes from the first 911 call reporting the incident to locate Paddock.
Once police breached the shooter’s room on the 32nd floor, the 64-year-old had already committed suicide.
The attack is deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
