Instagram DOWN: Social network NOT WORKING in the UK, as users struggle to load app

Instagram is down, users have reported.

The hugely-successful photo-sharing social network appears to be offline for hundreds of users in the UK, Europe and United States.

Independent website Down Detector, which measures social mentions around a certain topic to track outages across the globe, shows users reporting issues with Instagram in the UK and parts of mainland Europe and the USA.

Hundreds of Instagram users are reporting problems with the US social network website every minute, DownDetector data reveals.

According to data amassed by DownDetector, half of all those struggling to connect to Instagram are unable to access the News Feed.

Meanwhile, 30 per cent of users have been left unable to access the website, and another 20 per cent are unable to login at all.

Facebook, which owns Instagram, also appears to .

Instagram users have flooded other social networks to complain about the outage.

One user tweeted: “@facebook and @instagram both down. Great timing.”

“Praying instagram is down to change their terrible algorithm & when it comes back every post is back in chronological order” another joked.

Another Instagram user posted: “I can’t upload my video to Instagram #InstagramDown but Twitter isn’t!”

Instagram, which allows users to share pictures and videos publicly or privately, now boasts more than 700 million active users worldwide.
