He said: “If that’s true, then sure. I love that stuff. If I get the shout? Then yeah. I’m sure I would.”

How exactly he would fit in might be a difficultly though as Die Hard: Year One is partly set before the original film with a yet-to-be-announced actor playing a younger McClane.

Nevertheless Willis is returning for present day scenes, so Jai could easily fit in there.

The actor laughed: “I honestly don’t know much mate, they’re clearly not sharing any of that information with me. I don’t know, it’s a different mod behind it this time. I wouldn’t not want to. Particularly with James Cameron at the helm. I wouldn’t say no at the opportunity to work with him.

“It could be cool. I’m curious to see what they do, either way. Y’know it’s one of those things; a really iconic franchise that was special to be apart of. I don’t know if they’ve particularly got plans to continue along the same sort of lines as Terminator Genisys or not…so we’ll see.”

Jai Courtney’s new movie The Exception is out now.
