That’s the view of Arsenal legend Martin Keown, who wants to see Rashford given less restraint at the World Cup next year.
Rashford started the game on the right wing against Lithuania after starring for the full 90 minutes in the win over Slovakia.
The young forward has impressed at Manchester United this season and was one of a few bright sparks in the final two games of England’s World Cup qualifying campaign.
He danced through challenges and had Ian Wright praising him as the only England player who doesn’t look “petrified” on the big occasion.
But despite his promising performances on the international stage, he has only scored two goals in 13 matches.

And Keown wants to see Southgate release the restraints on Rashford once England travel to Russia next year.
“It would help if Marcus Rashford did not have to play in a straitjacket,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“Against Slovenia, he and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were locked in their starting positions on the wings.
“It was too easy for the Slovenia right back. He knew exactly what he was up against and could nullify Rashford’s threat.
“In Russia, I want to see him given licence to roam centrally where he can cause more damage.”
