Xbox One news: Battlegrounds PUBG PS4 Pro boost, Xbox One X release update

Battlegrounds on Xbox One has been confirmed for release later this year.

While we don’t have a full launch date, Bluehole Inc. and Microsoft have both confirmed their working for release near the end of 2017.

There have been worries that PUBG on Xbox One could see a series of delays, however, it appears that the Preview Program launch is still very much on schedule.

And there could be more good news for Microsoft regarding the exclusivity of game being extended on the Xbox One and Xbox One X.

Sources have told Bloomberg that Bluhole Inc. are in discussions with Microsoft to change how long the game will remain a console exclusive.

So far, we know that PUBG on PS4 is a likely outcome, with Bluehole founder Chang Byung-gyu confirming talks were on with other console companies to bring the game to a larger audience.

However, this will only happen in 2018 and it could be a lot later in some would have predicted.

“South Korea’s Bluehole Inc. has agreed to produce the game for Microsoft first by the end of the year and is likely to give the company a longer period as the solo console, said the people, asking not to be identified because the matter is private,” Bloomberg reports.

“Games are typically offered exclusively for about three months to encourage people to buy a particular console, so Xbox may have the game to itself until the middle of next year or longer.”

And that can only mean good things for the Xbox One X, which launches this November into a buy console market.

While the Xbox One X will not have its own exclusives, having a big game like Battlegrounds running enhanced on the console will likely give it a boost against the likes of the PS4 and PS4 Pro.

It was recently revealed that the Xbox One X will include a hidden surprise for Halo fans, it has been revealed.

With the Xbox One X release date creeping up fast, fans have discovered a Master Chief Easter egg hidden within the console itself.

As YouTube channel unocero points out, the console’s board has an etching of Master Chief riding a scorpion.

This is a reference to the Xbox One X’s Project Scorpio codename.

Interestingly, it’s not the first time Microsoft has hidden a Halo secret within the Xbox One.

Master Chief can also be found within the Xbox One S.

The Xbox One X will be launching next month, with a release date of November 7 and a UK price of £449.99.

Microsoft says the Xbox One X is the world’s most powerful console, boasting six teraflops of power and native 4K gaming.

It’s launching more than a year after the PS4 Pro was released – which also offers 4K gaming and HDR visuals.

And one analyst is predicting a close battle for living room supremacy between the two powerful consoles.

Lewis Ward, IDC Research Director for Gaming and VR/AR, spoke to GamesTM about the Xbox One X.

And he gave a bright prediction for how well it will sell.

Ward said: “No, the XB1X won’t be enough for Microsoft to catch up. It should give PlayStation 4 Pro a run for its money in 2018 in the United States and the United Kingdom, however.

“I’m projecting about four million XB1X consoles shipped from Q4 2017 through the end of 2018, and about five million PlayStation 4 Pro consoles shipped in the same timeframe.

“The way shipments break down globally, however, that implies a very tight race in the United States and the United Kingdom.”

While Ward is still predicting the PS4 Pro to outsell the Xbox One X, it’s a much closer battle the fight between the PS4 and Xbox One overall.
