Star Wars 8 trailer: WATCH teaser for new full promo HERE now

Watch below.

The trailer date has been heavily rumoured for weeks – and now it’s finally official. It will arrive tomorrow, October 9.

The brief teaser shows fleeting images of Rey (Daisy Ridley) wielding her lightsaber – and now there’s not long to wait until the full thing can finally be seen.

A release from LucasFilm officially confirmed that UK fans can watch it in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

In the US, the Star Wars 8 trailer will air during halftime on ESPN’s Monday Night Football on Monday, October 9, during halftime of the US National Football League (NFL) game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears in Chicago. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT.

It’s also been confirmed that tickets will go on sale as the trailer launches.

Rian Johnson, the film’s director, hinted strongly towards the plans when he tweeted to a West Side Story track called Something’s Coming last night.

Mark Hamill also dropped a not-so-subtle hint last month, but later insisted he was kidding.

The Last Jedi has an exceptionally high bar to meet: 2015’s The Force Awakens was the biggest film of all time when it landed two years ago.

The latest edition forms the middle chunk of the new trilogy, with Episode 9 – now under J.J. Abrams’ directorship – due in 2019.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out on December 14 in the UK.
