Scotland suffered heartache in the qualifers again as they were unable to get the win needed to reach the play-offs.
After the match, Strachan hailed his side’s efforts and when asked if he would remain in charge, said: “There shouldn’t be any talk about what I’m thinking, what I’m doing at this moment in time.”
But several former Scotland internationals have lined up to criticise Strachan and Scotland for their display.
Steven Thompson described the performance as ‘pedestrian’.
He told BBC Sportsound: “It is so bitterly disappointing to go out in this manner, with the expectation and hope and optimism that surrounded this game after Thursday.

Pat Nevin was also critical of Scotland’s display, saying: “Scotland probably didn’t deserve to get a point out of this game but it doesn’t matter you just have to keep fighting.
“There were question marks over the referee but that is not the reason why Scotland didn’t win tonight.
“They just weren’t good enough.”
And Former Scotland defender Willie Miller said he felt they didn’t deserve to win.
He added: “We didn’t deserve to draw tonight. We deserved to be beaten tonight because Slovenia were the better side.”
“There shouldn’t be any talk about what I’m thinking, what I’m doing at this moment in time.”
