You can now send Apple Music tracks in Facebook Messenger, here’s how

Facebook Messenger has been updated to support Apple Music.

Those who subscribe to ’s popular music streaming service can now share full tracks with friends and family via Facebook Messenger.

And if you’re not already a subscriber, Apple now lets you sign-up to the new service from within Messenger itself.

In a group or one-on-one conversation, you can tap the plus (+) icon to add the Apple Music Chat Extension to the conversation.

From there, you can easily share your favourite songs with friends.

You can also talk directly with the Apple Music bot in the chat – just like you would with your friends.

Simply search for “Apple Music” from the Messenger home screen and you can kickstart a conversation with the AI-powered bot.

Messenger users can even send an emoji to the chatbot and receive a corresponding Apple Music Playlist.

Even those without a subscription are able to listen and share tracks – albeit in 30-second sound bites.

The news comes as Apple rolled-out a major update to the Android version of the Apple Music app.

The updated app now supports voice search, a recently played widget and shortcuts to Beats 1 and Search functions.

Apple Music subscribers can now ask the Google Assistant to queue-up songs, albums, artists and Beats 1 radio by simply saying “Ok, Google …”.

Android users can also tap-and-hold on the Apple Music app icon, which will now reveal the option to play Beats 1 or start a new search without having to first launch the app.
