BREAKING: Catalonia referendum results: 90% voted FOR independence

Just 7.83% of voters were against the region becoming independent from Spain.

The leader of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, has insisted independence is only days away since the poll last Sunday.

In an interview with the German newspaper Bild on Thursday, he insisted: “I already feel as president of a free country where millions of people have made an important decision.”
