Call of Duty WW2 could launch with this surprise game mode on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Despite the promise of “boots on the ground” gameplay, it looks like Sledgehammer is trying to sneak its popular Uplink mode into the next Call of Duty.
One player claims to have found evidence of Uplink mode in the recent beta.
Reddit user ‘trevormine’ seemingly discovered something called Gridiron, which looks like a WWII version of Uplink.
The modified version of Uplink seemingly features the same red and blue portals, only instead of an orb, players will carry around an old fashioned leather ball.

And speaking of the Call of Duty WW2 beta, fan feedback is being used to re-shape the new game.
Activision revealed: “This Beta has definitely helped make the game better, and our backend launch readiness more solid.
“Some of you have expressed concern about the range play needed for the Aachen map. We’re listening to your feedback and may make some map changes as a result.”
Call of Duty WW2 developer Sledgehammer will also tinker with the Team Deathmatch score limit.
“We’ve also noticed a number of you commenting that raising the PT score to 100 for TDM might be sub optimal,” Sledgehammer adds.
“This was a community ask, and it felt like a good time to compare it to weekend one. We’ve spent nearly 3 years playing, and 75 felt better to us.
“By the end of weekend 2, we’re looking to lock the decision, so please let us know your thoughts.”
Hopefully the changes will be ready for the November 3 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
