The English actress is reuniting with director James Cameron for the first time since she played Rose opposite Leonardo DiCaprio almost 20 years ago.
Sadly it’s nothing resembling a new Rose-centric story, but rather a different franchise altogether.
It’s the Avatar sequels, which have finally gone into production after years in development hell.
“Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career,” Cameron told Deadline.
“I can’t wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life.”

Winslet, meanwhile, spoke just yesterday about the secret to her strong rapport with Leonardo DiCaprio: that they weren’t remotely attracted to each-other.
She said: “It did mean that we were able to have this… be able to tease each other, which we still do, which is really amazing.”
The star is currently promoting her new movie, The Mountain Between Us.
Avatar 2 is out on December 18, 2020. Three more films follow in 2021, 2024 and 2025.
