Destiny 2 maintenance details: Bungie server down time for new update release

The Destiny 2 servers will be going offline for scheduled maintenance today, as Bungie prepare to deploy a new update.

Patch 1.0.3.1 has been given a few details already, with Bungie still battling to right some of the game’s more major bugs and glitches.

As mentioned above, Destiny 2 services will be taken offline on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 for scheduled maintenance.

This will follow today’s usual Destiny 2 reset, which sees all the game’s major activitives refreshed with new loot and challenges.

Destiny 2 will be down from 4pm UK time, although players already logged in will be able to continue playing until 5pm.

All players will be kicked out of the game at 5pm, as maintenance begins in earnest.

Players will be unable to connect until 8pm, which is when server maintenance is scheduled to end.

  • 4pm – Destiny server maintenance is scheduled to begin. Players will no longer be able to login to Destiny 2
  • 5pm – All online players will be removed from Destiny 2
  • 8pm – Destiny 2 server maintenance is scheduled to end

Following this maintenance, Destiny 2 players will be prompted to accept Update 1.0.3.1, before carrying on their adventures in space.

Here is a preview of some of the changes you can expect to see when you download the update today:

  • Fixed an issue in which players could lose access to the Veteran’s Transmat Effect by deleting characters
  • Fixed an issue in which clan engrams would grant Trials of the Nine and raid rewards at only 10 Power
  • Fixed an issue in which progress for the Exotic Quest Step “His Highness’s Seal” was not incrementing properly
  • Quest progress will still increment by 1, but the Quest Step now only requires 10 Seals to be collected
  • Fixed an issue in which raid milestones would not show for some players after the weekly reset (This didn’t affect any raid rewards)
  • Fixed issues in which players could enter a state where they are continuously killed or unable to resurrect if encounter complete and failure events occurred simultaneously

Not included is a much-needed hotfix for the problems some Guardians have been running into with their weekly Levithan Raid keys.

Bungie say they have identified two instances where Leviathan raid keys are erroneously removed from character inventory.

Signing in with alternate characters will remove raid keys if the character had not been signed in since the weekly reset.

And if a player earns Raid keys and creates a new character, raid keys are removed from inventory.

To prevent this issue, the development team advise players sign in with all characters or inspect all characters on the Destiny Companion App prior to completing checkpoints within the Leviathan raid after the weekly reset.
