Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo has named the Las Vegas shooting suspect as Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white man.
He added that police are “confident but not 100 per cent sure” that they have located Marilou Danley, 62, who is said to be his roommate.
It is believed that Danley was travelling with Paddock shortly before the attack.
She has been described as a 4’11 Asian woman weighing 111 pounds (50kg).
On her Facebook page, Danley describes herself as a “proud mom and grandma who lives life to the fullest”.

The Las Vegas attack is the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
It came on the final night of the Route 91 country music festival.
Mike McGarry, a 53-year-old financial adviser from Philadelphia, said he was at the concert when he heard hundreds of shots ring out.
“It was crazy – I laid on top of the kids. They’re 20. I’m 53. I lived a good life,” McGarry said. The back of his shirt bore footmarks, after people ran over him in the panicked crowd.
US President Donald Trump has been briefed on the shooting, and has tweeted a message of support to those affected.
He wrote: “My warmest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families of the terrible Las Vegas shooting. God bless you!”
Theresa May took a break from the Conservative Party conference in Manchester to condemn the attack.
She said: ”The UK’s thoughts are with the victims and the emergency services responding to the appalling attack in Las Vegas.”
