Fortnite went down today as the Survive the Storm event finished on Epic Games hit PS4, Xbox One and PC tower defence shooter.
According to independent website Down Detector, hundreds of Fortnite players experienced as the servers went offline.
The down time last for around an hour while Survive the Storm was rotated out of commission.
The official Fortnite games Twitter account revealed the news to players earlier today.
They tweeted: “We are currently patching Fortnite to rotate out the Survive the Storm event. Expect a one hour downtime.”

In a blog post on the Fortnite website, Epic Games revealed more about the servers going down for maintenance.
They said: “The Survive the Storm event will be ending, so make sure you get those final runs in and grab that last Hydraulic weapon you’ve been chasing (Rocket Launcher pls).
“But, what’s next? The Horde Bash event, featuring…
“Pre-Built Forts, Hordes of Husks, Instant Co-op Action, And more!”
Epic Games said more details would be revealed on the upcoming Horde Bash update later this week.
On Sunday Fortnite players also encountered issues as hundreds of players reported issues with playing online.
Amid the server issues the Fortnite Twitter account tweeted: “Your excitement to play has pushed our system limits!
“We’re slowly recovering, and are working on system upgrades throughout the weekend.”
Last week Fortnite released the huge free Battle Royale update on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The release of the Battle Royale update come soon after Epic Games announced the PUBG-style mode would be coming to Fortnite.
The new mode is now available as a free to download game even if you don’t already have Fortnite.
Like with PUBG, the Fortnite Battle Royale mode sets 100 players against one another on one huge map with no respawns.
There is just one objective – to be the last player standing.
The Fortnite team marked the release of the Battle Royale mode in a blog post outlining all of the features in it.
In the blog post, the Fortnite team said: “It’s time for everyone to drop out of the Battle Bus and into Fortnite Battle Royale as the mode goes free on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Mac with the release of the 1.6.3 patch tomorrow (Sept. 26).
“Gather your squad – four-player and two-player groups are here.”
Epic Games are working to continually improve and add new features to Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode.
The developer said they are looking into adding vehicles, and have already created prototypes for some ideas.
After the Battle Royale release, Fortnite revealed that more than one million players took part in the PUBG-style mode on launch day.
Around the same, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds had more than 1.4million concurrent users on Steam.
Announcing the news Battle Royale broke the one million marker, the Fortnite Twitter posted: “Over 1 million players have partied on the Battle Bus during the first day of Battle Royale!
“Thank you and party on!”
