OnePlus launched its new flagship smartphone – OnePlus 5 – earlier this summer.
But that doesn’t mean the Chinese smartphone start-up has forgotten about its previous handsets.
OnePlus this week rolled-put a blockbuster new operating system update to its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T handsets, which were released in June and November 2016, respectively.
Oxygen OS 4.5.0 brings a slew of improvements, tweaks and new features to the year-old OnePlus hardware.
Most of these debuted were already available on the OnePlus 5, but it’s great to see the features start to appear on older handsets.

Lift Up Display is one of the most useful new additions in the latest version of Oxygen OS.
The aptly-named feature automatically wakes the screen of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T whenever you pick-up the device.
OnePlus 5 shipped with this feature (which is also a staple on the Google Pixel) out of the box.
Gaming Do Not Disturb lets users block notifications when using individual applications.
Found within the settings menu, Settings > Advanced > Gaming Do Not Disturb, the settings lets users disable all notifications (except calls and alarms) when using a specific game, or app.
OnePlus also lets you lock hardware buttons, so there’s no chance of you accidentally tapping the Power button in the middle of a particularly intense gaming session.
Low Priority Notifications does exactly what it says on the tin.
Toggled on a per-app basis, prevent named applications triggering the alert sound, or cycling the notification LED.
Notifications from the apps will still be available for you to peruse when convenient.
Elsewhere, Oxygen OS 4.5.0 boasts a number of smaller improvements, like an updated user interface for the Phone app.
You can also add a Shot on OnePlus watermark within the Gallery. OnePlus has also redesigned its Dash Charge animation.
The news follows a refresh of the OnePlus 5 design – the result of a collaboration between the Chinese company and renown French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.
The overhauiled look is a limited edition run, although OnePlus 5 is staying tight-lipped about how long the new design will be available.
Dubbed OnePlus 5 JCC+, the refreshed flagship smartphone now sports a bright blue On/Off button on its side, as well as scrawled writing across the back of the phone.
On the back of the OnePlus 5 JCC+, the name of the collaboration – “Callection” – is signed in grey.
OnePlus 5 JCC+ will be sold online at OnePlus.net for £499.
