The actress, 52, was previously thought to be coming back for another outing, but now it’s revealed that the plans are off the table.
“It’s over,” she told Extra. “We’re not doing it.”
Elaborating, she went on: “We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story.
“It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
However, Kim Cattrall has confirmed that she didn’t want to make the film.

It was reported just late last year that there would be a follow-up to Sex And The City 2, which came out in 2010 and was lambasted by critics.
“I can see where we fell short on that movie, and I’m perfectly happy to say that publicly,” Parker previously said.
“I will say, I also understand how much friggin’ money it made.”
Sex And The City was a hugely popular TV show, running from 1998 to 2004.
It aired 94 episodes across six seasons before coming to an end, with the first film following in 2008.
Late last year it was reported that Parker, Kristen Davis, Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon had all signed on for a final film.
A prequel series, The Carrie Diaries, ran in 2013 but failed to catch on.
