Amazon Echo Show now on sale in the UK but new Echo Spot won’t arrive until 2018

It’s been a massive 24-hours for Amazon with the firm revealing a swathe of new and updated device.

The online retailer hosted a major event at its headquarters in Seattle last night where it unveiled a new and an streaming device.

Along with these new devices Amazon also revealed that its Echo Show is finally coming to the UK.

The Echo Show has been available in the US for a while with the device allowing users to not only hear content but also view it on a display.

The screen is designed to provide useful, glanceable information with Alexa flash briefings now including video content from favourite news providers such as the BBC and MTV.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Users can also use the Echo Show to stay organised at home with kitchen timers, shopping lists and calendars all available to view on the screen. 

There’s even the ability to see your photos, cinema film times, and you can watch movies and TV shows from Amazon Video. 

Plus, as you listen to music from Amazon Music, you’ll see song lyrics and album art on the display.

Along with content, Echo Show also introduces Alexa calling and messaging – a totally new way to be together with your friends and family. 

Just ask Alexa to call a family member and you’ll be connected via video to their Echo Show or Alexa app.

Echo Show is available for pre-order today and will start shipping on November 16 in the UK. 

It arrives in black or white and costs £199.99.

Although Echo Show is going on sale soonm there is a device that won’t arrive in the UK until 2018.

Amazon’s new Echo Spot was announced last night and is like a miniature version of the Echo Show.

This device includes a small display which can show content such as video flash briefings, music lyrics and weather forecasts.

Plus it can make calls to any friends and family who have an Echo Spot, Echo Show, or the Alexa App.

Echo Spot features 2nd generation far-field technology with four microphones and enhanced noise cancellation, so it can hear you from across the room – even while music is playing.

Like all Amazon smart devices the Spot can control your smart home devices, search the web and play music.

It’s currently only available in the US where it costs $129 – there’s no official UK launch date.
