SNES Classic Mini pre-order UPDATE – John Lewis will have stock TONIGHT

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Edition has been hugely popular with pre-orders selling out quick whenever stock has become available.

Pre-orders have opened recently at Tesco Direct and the Official Nintendo Store UK, but stock sold out within minutes.

And now John Lewis are advising customers to be prepared for more SNES Classic Mini pre-order stock which will be released tonight.

The British retail giant will be setting SNES Classic Mini pre-order stock live at 8pm tonight on their website.

SNES Classic Mini pre-orders will cost £79.95 and it comes with free delivery.

StockInformer revealed the news in an e-mal alert sent out today and advised SNES Classic Mini fans to set up a John Lewis account prior to the stock becoming available.

They also said it would be a good idea to visit the John Lewis website just before 8pm to get ready for a surge of people trying to bag a pre-order.

John Lewis have the SNES Classic Mini already listed on their website ahead of stock going live later on tonight.

If you order now you’ll be able to pick up the pint-sized console from your local Waitrose or John Lewis store on the SNES Classic Mini release date this Friday.

SNES Classic Mini fans are gearing up for the big launch day on September 29 after months of anticipation and hype.

The SNES Classic Mini comes loaded with 21 classic 16-Bit games that are playable in glorious HD.

The console also comes bundled with two controllers and a USB power cable.

The SNES Classic Mini was first announced back at the end of June with pre-orders available in the UK the day it was revealed.

Since then SNES Classic Mini pre-orders have sold out fast whenever stock for the pint-sized console has become available.

Amid the SNES Classic Mini pre-order rush, Nintendo have tried to reassure fans about stock levels for the pint-sized console.

In a statement to USgamer soon after the SNES Classic Mini was announced, Nintendo said: “We aren’t providing specific numbers, but we will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of NES Classic Edition.”

While Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has warned against SNES Classic Mini fans going on eBay and buying from scalpers.

Express.co.uk has seen listings of the SNES Classic Mini priced at more than FOUR times the console’s RRP.

Addressing fans left worried about SNES Classic Mini stock levels, Reggie said Nintendo had “dramatically increased” production of the console.

He told gamers not to pay above the RRP for a SNES Classic Mini and suggested the console WILL be widely available.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Reggie said: “I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99.”

One eBay listing Express.co.uk saw for the SNES Classic Mini priced it at an extortionate £300.
