NORTH KOREA CRISIS: Kim warns West there is ‘no place safe on Earth from our nuclear bombs

boasted of “our nuclear bombs and H-bombs” and warned all-out war was on the horizon.

Despot has repeatedly promised to rain fire down on America, South Korea and Japan in an ever-tightening spiral of threat and counter-threat.

Now another provocative warning has been issued by the secretive state, a week after US president Donald Trump said he would “totally destroy” North Korea.

A statement issued by a North Korean committee dedicated to the reunification of the peninsula hit out at Mr Trump and warned of a deadly comeuppance.

The message featured in a Pyongyang-based propaganda newspaper said: “Trump’s rubbish is the open declaration of war against our supreme dignity, state, social system and people, and an unpardonable extra-large provocation.

“This is not a just invective of Trump but a vivid revelation of the vicious hostile policy of the US administration toward the DPRK and its wicked intention to ignite a war.”

They said America was insulting North Korea, a charge which could only be met with “the fire of our nuclear bombs”.

The statement continued: “Anyone who dares insult our supreme dignity and deny the existence of our state can never go scot-free.

“Our toughest counteraction will bring unimaginable consequences to the US warmongers and their vassal forces, and the American empire will completely be destroyed in exchange for the rubbish of ‘total destruction’ of the DPRK.

“The enemies will find no place safe on the earth from the fire of our nuclear bombs and H-bombs fitted into the powerful striking means of Juche.”

They also hit out at South Korea’s government, who they described as “puppet authorities” displaying “dastardly behaviour”, warning they too would face ruin.

The article concluded: “We will surely settle accounts with the traitors for their disgusting behaviour and thrice-cursed crimes, who will be made to pay dearly for the crimes.”

South Korea appears to be taking these threats seriously, with citizens stocking up on emergency survival kits.

Hong Soon-chul of eBay Korea warned: “There has been a recent surge in demand for survival kits.

“We don’t advertise or market such items because it could raise unnecessary concerns but the demand is out there.”

Auction, another website, also reported a surge in demand.

They said sales for hand-held radios had risen 46 per cent and combat rations by 77 per cent from September 2 to 5. This was around the time North Korea carried out a highly provocative nuclear test, a move which sent alarm bells ringing from Washington to Japan.

One employee of a shipping company said: “I was confused at first but I thought it wouldn’t be bad to have a war survival kit at home after watching recent news.”
