Facebook is down with hundreds of users across the globe saying the social networking giant’s site is not working today.
Independent website Down Detector has received reports from hundreds of Facebook users saying the service isn’t working.
The issues began just after 7pm BST with almost half (46 per cent) of those affected experiencing a total blackout on services.
It comes days after Facebook experienced another outage that affected some users, mainly those in Europe.
Down Detector is an independent website which tracks social mentions around a certain topic to detect outages across the globe.
According to the outage monitor, Facebook users in the UK, US and Europe are all experiencing issues today.
At its peak, Down Detector received 729 Facebook down reports from the world’s most popular social network.
Users flocked to Facebook’s big rival Twitter to report issues with the service tonight.
One user tweeted: “FACEBOOK IS DOWN”
While another said: “Ugh Facebook is down and it’s my day off. This is a travesty.”
And one added: “Seriously, @facebook ? You need to get this mess fixed. #facebookdown”.
