Facebook DOWN – Social network site not working as users complain of major outage

Facebook appears to be down.

The popular service seems to have hit problems at around 7pm tonight with users complaining of a major outage.

Independent website Down Detector is showing a huge number of reports from users saying that Facebook is down.

According to the outage monitor, the problem seems to be mainly affecting users in Europe.

Facebook users have also flocked to Twitter to complain about the outage, with streams of tweets saying that Facebook is down today.
