Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi SHOCK: Is THIS Rey’s connection to the prequel trilogy?

Since the release of The Force Awakens, Star Wars fans have been wondering just who Daisy Ridley’s Rey really is.

Now Star Wars theorist Mike Zeroh has come up with a convincing new theory that links Rey to the prequel trilogy.

In his new YouTube video, he said: “We heard a couple of months ago that director Rian Johnson inserted prequel trilogy continuity in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

“We’ve recently learned that [it will] be very important to the plot and to a certain character, that of course being Rey.”

He continued: “I believe this all has to do with the whole Chosen One concept, [one which] is being transferred from the prequels into The Last Jedi.

Zeroh points out how Mark Hamill has previously revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Luke thought Kylo Ren was the Chosen One, before he turned to the Dark Side.

The Star Wars theorist continued: “I believe that they are going to take advantage of that concept for Rey as a character, that she could very well be the Chosen One.

“In the script of The Force Awakens, Luke recognises her in some way, shape or form – not by appearance, but in some other way.”

He added: “Now it could very well be that Rey herself is indeed the Chosen One. Could this be the big shocking revelation of her connection to the Force?”

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
