PS Plus October 2017 – Here’s when free PS4 games will be announced for PlayStation Plus

The PS Plus October 2017 line-up will be revealed soon, with PlayStation Plus subscribers getting a whole host of new PS4 free games.

The countdown to the big PlayStation Plus reveal has already begun, with Sony set to announce the PS Plus October 2017 line-up tomorrow.

The next batch of PS4 free games is expected to be revealed between 4pm and 5pm on Wednesday on the PlayStation Blog.

Besides PS4, PS3 and PS Vita free games, Sony could include a PS VR game in the PS Plus October line-up.

September marked the first time a PS VR game was added to the PlayStation Plus free games selection, with the inclusion of RIGS: Mechanised Combat League.

It remains to be seen whether Sony will continue this trend in October.

One thing that does seem like a safe bet though is the inclusion of a horror game to mark Halloween.

The PS Plus Reddit page has a strong track record of correctly predicting the PlayStation Plus line-up.

For seven out of the nine line-ups revealed so far, Redditors have correctly guessed what games would be included.

A number of people on that Reddit thread have predicted a Resident Evil game will be included in the PS Plus October 2017 line-up.

Users have said they believe either Resident Evil: Revelations 2 or Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster could become one of the next PS4 free games.

If a Resident Evil game is included in the line-up, it would be a little bit of history repeating.

In October 2016 PS Plus subscribers were able to download for free Resident Evil HD alongside Transformers Devastation.

Resident Evil HD is the remaster of the Gamecube remake of the original Resident Evil, which appeared on the PlayStation.

While no one knows for certain what games will be included in the PS Plus October 2017 line-up, a horror game does seem a safe bet.

One game that is unlikely to be included in the next PlayStation Plus free games selection is Friday The 13th: The Game.

In October on Friday 13th the hit online game from Gun Media will finally get a physical release.

It would be counter-intuitive to include the game for free in the PS Plus line-up the same month the physical version is launching.

Whatever the line-up, fans don’t have long to wait until the big announcement from Sony.

After the PS Plus October 2017 line-up is revealed on Wednesday, the selection of PS4 free games is expected to fresh on Tuesday October 3 2017.

Until then, these games in the September line-up are available to download right now for free if you’re a PS Plus member:

• inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4)

• Child of Light (PS4)

• RIGS: Mechanised Combat League (PS4 bonus title – PS VR required)

• That’s You (PS4 bonus title)

• Truck Racer (PS3)

• Handball 2016 (PS3)

• We Are Doomed (PS Vita & PS4)

• Hatoful Boyfriend (PS4 & PS Vita)

Ahead of the PS Plus October 2017 line-up announcement, PlayStation Plus members were given a welcome boost.

Last week at the Tokyo Game Show 2017 Square Enix announced the PlayStation classic Final Fantasy 9 was coming to the PS4.

It was released the same day it was announced, and if you’re a PS Plus member you will get a discount.

Final Fantasy 9 usually costs £16.99 on the PS Store, but if you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber you’ll get if for £13.59.

The PlayStation Europe Twitter account revealed the news, tweeting: “#FinalFantasyIX is a true classic of the series and – SURPRISE! – it comes to PS4 today, with a PS Plus discount”.
