Overwatch news: Blizzard to unleash HUGE PS4, Xbox One story update very soon

Overwatch developer Blizzard is getting ready to release a brand new story update for fans of Zarya.

Just weeks after the release of a brand new Mei story trailer, Blizzard has decided to give fans a closer look at Zarya.

But the latest story reveal won’t take the form of a new trailer.

Instead, Blizzard is preparing to release a new Overwatch digital comic book.

The comic focuses on Zarya’s pursuit of Sombra, and how the popular Overwatch character comes to reassess her world view.

“Through strife, Zarya begins to realize that she will have to reassess her worldview about omnics being uniformly evil.”

The new Overwatch comic book will be available from Wednesday, September 27. You can read it by visiting the Blizzard website.

It was written by Andrew Robinson, Joelle Sellner and Kate Niemczyk, whose respective credits include Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters, Womanthology and Marvel’s Mockingbird.

The previous story update focused on Mei and her faithful sidekick, Snowball.

The beautifully animated short focuses on Mei after she wakes up from nine years in cryosleep to find out that  has been disbanded.

The latest Overwatch movie focuses on Mei and Snowballs efforts to deliver crucial data back home while they’re in the middle of a snow storm.

Entitled Rise and Shine, the animated short is created in the style of a Pixar movie and is full of moments that pull on the heartstrings.
