World War 3: Trump warns North Korea ‘may not be around much longer’ over H-bomb threat

President Trump took to Twitter after North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong Ho told the United Nations that a missile attack on the US mainland is “inevitable”.

President Trump tweeted: “Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at UN. If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won’t be around much longer!”

The North Korean minister also told the UN that the US President Donald Trump was “a mentally deranged person full of megalomania” who is holding “the nuclear button”.

Mr Ri also claimed that the US President was on a “suicide mission”.

Addressing world leaders, he yesterday said: “In case innocent lives of the US are lost because of this suicide attack, Trump will be held totally responsible.”

Mr Trump had addressed the UN earlier in the week and he threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if provoked.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, in an unusual direct statement to the world, responded pledging to take “highest-level” action against the United States.

Mr Kim also called the Republican President “mentally deranged” and “a dotard”.

The North Korean foreign minister’s comments have come as US bombers have flown close to the hermit kingdom’s east coast to demonstrate the military options available to defeat any threat, the Pentagon has said.

The flight was the farthest north of the demilitarised zone between the Koreas that any US fighter jet or bomber had flown in the 21st century, according to the Pentagon.

Pentagon spokeswomen Dana White said the US were taking North Korea’s reckless behaviour seriously after Trump’s comments angered the North Korean dictator.

Ms White added: “This mission is a demonstration of US resolve and a clear message that the President has many military options to defeat any threat.

“We are prepared to use the full range of military capabilities to defend the U.S. homeland and our allies.”
