Vodafone DOWN – Broadband not working across the UK as internet provider confirms issues

Vodafone broadband is down tonight with hundreds of customers currently unable to access the internet.

It seems the issues began at around 5pm this afternoon with users of the popular broadband provider still unable to access the web hours later.

Down Detector, an independent website that tracks social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the world, has also seen hundreds of reports.

One Vodafone user posted a message on the Down Detector website saying: “Vodafone Broadband down since 5pm, no idea of when it will be sorted.”

Twitter is also full of people frustrated at not being able to get online with one user tweeting: “Been down since teatime in Durham, hopefully we will get some answers from @VodafoneUK soon.”

The outage appears to have hit users across the entire UK with many unsure when they will be back online.

It’s currently unclear what is causing the problems although Vodafone has said they are aware of the issues.

A message from Vodafone posted to users on Twitter said: “We’re aware of some issues with broadband recently, our engineers are working to resolve this as soon as they can.”

However, the telecoms firm has also revealed it doesn’t know when the problems will be fix.

A message has just appeared on social media stating, “We don’t have a timescale to give currently, but we’re on the case and will get things running as soon as possible.”

It’s not been a good week for outages in the UK.

Facebook and WhatsApp have both been hit by issues over the past few days that caused thousands to lose access to the app.

WhatsApp fans also reported problems sending or receiving messages,

It is not the first time in recent weeks that users reported WhatsApp down.

At the end of August WhatsApp went down for thousands of users in an outage that lasted a few hours.

Express.co.uk has contacted Vodafone for comment.
