Hayley Atwell appears to have dropped a hint that she could be coming back to the MCU, courtesy of a photo of herself behind-the-scenes of an unnamed movie.
She played Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers’ love interest from Captain America: The First Avenger – later scooping her own TV series, Agent Carter.
In Captain America: Civil War, she passed away, after being aged-up to her 60s in Ant-Man and her 90s in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
What’s interesting about her new behind-the-scenes photo is there is evidence of ageing or de-ageing at work once again.
In her Instagram selfie, she is seen with facial tracking dots, which are used when CGI work is due to be done in post-production.

She captioned the pic simply: “Don’t question my process. It’s very serious #setlifethuglife.”
There is of course the possibility that she’s backstage on another project altogether – such as Christopher Robin, which she is also currently working on.
So could we be seeing Peggy again in either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4? Time, it seems, will tell.
Three characters who definitely should be seen in both are Pepper Potts, Iron Man and War Machine – thanks to a recent interview with Gwyneth Paltrow.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I went to Atlanta to do Avengers 4, so I’m in and out for that, and it’s weird to go back and forth.
“[Goop is] growing fast, and balls are dropping all the time. But honestly, I was on set and thought, ‘You sit here for two hours sipping tea, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle are making me laugh hysterically – why the hell did I give this up?’”
Avengers: Infinity War is out in the spring of 2018, with Avengers 4 to follow a year later.
