The director, who is responsible for the upcoming Blade Runner 2049, is said to have won big favour with Daniel Craig, who’ll play 007 for the first time in the upcoming movie.
According to the Daily Mail, Villeneuve has spoken with Craig as well as producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

His CV is impressive: he also recently took charge of sci-fi gem Arrival, fast-paced thriller Sicario and Jake Gyllenhaal’s Prisoners.
Actors in Villeneuve’s past efforts have spoken consistently highly of him.
