iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are finally here.
The latest handsets are dropping through letterboxes, or being collected from network shops and Apple Stores across the country.
To celebrate the launch of the new iPhones, Virgin Mobile has unveiled the ultimate deal.
The popular carrier is offering iPhone 8 from as little as £29 a month, with the iPhone 8 Plus starting from £33 a month – with no upfront cost.
Both monthly plans come with 300 minutes, unlimited text messages, and 1.2GB of 4G mobile data.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
That’s not a huge amount of data – especially for those who are constantly streaming music from the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, or Tidal.
However, Virgin Mobile does offer data-free messaging on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Twitter, which should help that 1.2GB stretch a little further.
And if you do manage to conserve some mobile data at the end of the month, it will roll-on to next month’s allowance.
Virgin Mobile also offers the ability to roam like home in 43 destinations around the world, and includes free access to more than 2 million Virgin Media Wi-Fi hotspots.
However, there is a catch.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus deals are both 36-month contracts.
That’s a long time to be roped into a single handset, especially since most other UK carriers are now pushing contracts that enable an annual upgrade to a new phone.
It’s also worth remembering that while iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are the latest and greatest iPhones today, they will be outdated in a matter of weeks when the iPhone X launches.
That means the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be even more antiquated, should you decide to sell them on at the end of your 36-month contract.
Virgin Mobile does allow customers to drop the contract length from 36- to 24-months.
However, this increases the price of the iPhone 8 monthly plan from £29 a month to £43 a month.
iPhone 8 Plus customers will see an increase from £33 a month to £49 a month.
Vodafone offers the iPhone 8 for a similar monthly cost – £30 a month – for 1GB of 4G mobile data, unlimited minutes and texts.
However, this 24-month contract carries a hefty upfront cost of £289.99.
Apple will charge £699 for the entry-level iPhone 8, which ships with 64GB of storage. The 256GB model costs £849.
iPhone 8 Plus starts from £799 for its 64GB configuration. The 256GB model costs £949.
It’s also possible to order the flagship smartphones via the US technology company’s iPhone Upgrade Programme.
This enables customers to pay for their iPhone in monthly instalments, starting from £33.56 a month for iPhone 8, and £38.35 a month for iPhone 8 Plus.
Those on the iPhone Upgrade Programme are eligible to upgrade to the latest hardware every year.
