It has, incidentally, been revealed to become the highest-grossing horror movie in history.
In just two weeks it has racked up a hefty $236.3 million in the US, topping The Exorcist’s $232.9 million.
The latter film remains marginally ahead internationally – but it’s a matter of time before the record is snatched.

Muschietti said the script should be finished in early 2018, with pre-production beginning in the spring.
