OBLITERATED: Brave RAF fighter pilots blast ISIS cells as they plot atrocities in Britain

The fearless squadrons may have saved hundreds of lives back in Blighty by eliminating extremist jihadi terrorist groups planning atrocities in the Middle East.

Air Commodore Johnny Stringer, who is overseeing the UK air war against ISIS, praised the troops for their heroic efforts.

During Air Commodore Stringer’s 11-month tenure, Britain has been rocked by five terror attacks across the country – with four in the capital and one taking place in London.

However he claimed the toll could have been much higher if it wasn’t for the work of the Typhoon and Tornado heroes, Reaper drone crews, and spy planes and support team.

He said: “Aircraft and crews have engaged threats to the UK.

“Some surveillance helped identify those fighters, who can be dealt with at distance from the UK.”

His comments come as footage has been released of the moment a British Reaper drone halted a public execution by ISIS fighters.

The grainy black-and-white video shows as the remotely operated drone targeted rooftop guards with a Hellfire missile as crowds gathered below to watch two shackled prisoners being led to their deaths.

The direct hit killed the guards instantly, and caused everyone else to scatter in Abu Kamal, Syria.

A source told The Sun: “It was like something from Robin Hood.

“These guys faced certain death but unknown to everyone the RAF were watching and ready to act.”

The RAF have flown 2,750 fast jet missions, along with carrying out 2,205 Reaper operations and dropping 3,430 warheads.

But the fight will now move to the Euphrates River Valley and Mayadin, a new IS HQ in Syria.

Air Commodore Stringer said: “These people know we can find them wherever they try to hide.”

The new headquarters is expected to be where ISIS fighters will make their last stand, and American officials have warned the next few operations will neither be easy or quick.

Lt. Gen. Stephen J. Townsend, the top commander of the American-led task force that is battling the militants in Iraq and Syria, said: “The final stand of ISIS will be in the Middle Euphrates River Valle.

“All these forces will converge there.”
