OnePlus unveils limited edition OnePlus 5 with fresh new look

OnePlus 5 has a unique new design – the result of a collaboration between the Chinese smartphone start-up and renown French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

The new look is a limited edition run, although OnePlus 5 is staying tight-lipped about how long the new design will be available.

Dubbed OnePlus 5 JCC+, the refreshed flagship smartphone now sports a bright blue On/Off button on its side, as well as scrawled writing across the back of the phone.

On the back of the OnePlus 5 JCC+, the name of the collaboration – “Callection” – is signed in grey.

“I always like looking towards the future,” Jean-Charles de Castelbajac said of the project with OnePlus.

“To change the world, you always need to be creative and work with people who are ahead of their time.”

In celebration of the new collaboration, OnePlus will host a number of pop-up events, including one in Paris on September 22nd.

The OnePlus 5 JCC+ will be available for purchase at two pop-up events and online at OnePlus.net.

To kick off the “Callection”, OnePlus has teamed up with iconic fashion boutique, colette to host a pop-up event at its retail store in Paris on September 22nd at 11:00 am CET.

The exclusive Castelbajac inspired OnePlus 5 device, which includes 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and a dual camera, will be available to buy in the UK from October 2nd.

OnePlus 5 JCC+ will be sold online at OnePlus.net for £499.

“We’re always looking to try new things with partners who embody the Never Settle spirit,” said OnePlus co-founder and Head of Global, Carl Pei.

“It’s been great collaborating with an icon like Jean-Charles Castelbajac, who is continuously bringing game-changing ideas to the fashion industry.”

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has been pushing boundaries in art and fashion since the 1980s, when he first asked artists to paint his dresses.

The exclusive “Callection” with OnePlus also includes holsters, bags, caps, and t-shirts – all reflective of Castelbajac’s signature, chromatic style.

The accessories line will be available for purchase online in the UK on October 2nd.

Limited edition T-shirts will set you back £29.95 and tote bags £24.95.

The baseball cap, case bag, and holster, which are part of an exclusive concept accessories line, will be available at a later date via limited sales drops.
