As The Last Jedi gets ever closer, fans have been desperate to know which iconic characters will return from beyond the grave.
As well as flashback or Forceback vision scenes, there have been multiple leaks about actual Force Ghost appearances.
There have been, as yet unconfirmed, reports of Yoda and Anakin scenes being filmed at Pinewood and the voice of Obi-Wan was already heard in the first teaser trailer.
Rian Johnson also added to the frenzy by revealing that “Han Solo’s ghost” will feature in The Last Jedi.
Now a new official Disney and Lucasfilm release has confirmed that Obi-Wan will be coming back to the Star Wars universe as a Force Ghost.

Obi-Wan already made notable glowing ghostly appearances in the original trilogy in the Alec Guinness incarnation. Fans are still waiting to hear whether Ewan McGregor will reprise his Obi-Wan in a Star Wars Anthology spin-off.
The promotional release for the new story reads: “My name is Obi-Wan Kenobi and I am dead. I know how that sounds. Crazy old Ben with his crazy old stories. But this isn’t crazy. This is happening. At least, I think it is.”
The new story, Time of Death, is from the upcoming Disney and Lucasfilm anthology A Certain Point of View. This gathers together well-known Star Wars writers and contributers who celebrates 40 years of the franchise with 40 stories about the beloved film universe.
The compilation includes everyone from best-selling author Chuck Wendig to Star Wars authority Pablo Hidalgo.
The idea is that the authors focus on lesser-known or secondary characters, although Obi-Wan might not be happy with that depiction.
He’d been turning in his galactic grave…
From A Certain Point of View (Century, £20) is out on October 3.
