Canelo vs GGG purse: How much prize money will Saul Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin earn?

The highly-anticipated clash is generating huge interest in Sin City.

All the talk is about who will win and how they will do it rather than how much they will earn.

That is in stark contrast to the Floyd Mayweather against Conor McGregor clash last month.

But there is still a lot of money on offer for this huge prize fight.

HOW MUCH WILL GENNADY GOLOVKIN AND SAUL ALVAREZ EARN?

Alvarez is the ‘A-side’ of the promotion as he brings the big pay-per-view numbers to the table.

Golovkin has sold out arenas all over the world but his PPV fights usually sell around 200,000 in the US.

While Alvarez has broken the 1m mark on a number of occasions.

The Mexican is expected to earn a minimum of £12m but that will be almost tripled when the pay-per-view numbers are added up.

Golovkin will earn a minimum of around £10m, but again his pay cheque will be much higher and close to £30m.

GOLOVKIN v ALVAREZ TICKET SALES

The 20,000-seat T-Mobile Arena was sold out in two weeks after going on sale.

Tickets range from $300 to $5,000 and were snapped up by eager fight fans quickly, unlike Mayweather against McGregor which was priced much higher and had 5,000 empty seats.

The expected gate total will be around £25m which will make it the third highest for a boxing event in history.

GOLOVKIN v ALVAREZ PAY-PER-VIEW

This will be interesting to see how big it will go but Express Sport understands the promoters are confident it will be good.

They are not overly concerned that fans won’t spend twice after forking out £78 for the Mayweather against McGregor fight.

This one is priced at around £52 in the US and the promoters hope it could do more than 1.5m busy.

It may even break the 2m barrier which would bring in over £100m in revenue.

BoxNation Box Office are broadcasting the fight in the UK which is free for subscribers to the channel and £16.95 for those who are not.

It is apparently tracking well and while they are aware it is unlikely to match the 1.4m Mayweather against McGregor did recently, they are confident of a big figure.
